What Are You Doing?

What are You doing, God?  Loving You and being loved by You is the most amazing journey.  It is the most brethtaking adventure.  In the beauty of Your Truth, I see the ugliness of my own heart.  Yet Your wonderful grace washes it whiter and whiter until I begin to look like You.  Even then, that is only the beginning of our marriage.  Come quickly, Jesus.  You become more precious to me and my longing for You grows each passing day.  Show me where You are today, that I may join You and be with You there.

All is "Fair" this Beautiful Morning!

Yesterday involved my new nephew coming home from the hospital, a difficult day of church work, and finishing off with an amzing practice for our Sept. 11th remembrance service.  If you are around Statesville Sunday afternoon and are wanting to reflect on that tragic day in an attempt to gain some God-sized perspective, we invite you to come out.  It will be at Faith Baptist Church on 403 Barry Oak Rd at 6 PM.  There will be Firemen participating in the service, music, video, and I will bringing a message called, "Do You Remember the Numbers?"
This morning, several of our women from church are heading out to the Iredell County Fairgrounds to minister to the fairworkers.  Amanda will be leading the women and I am sharing the gospel with any fairworkers who enjoy the breakfast the South Yadkin Association are providing (cooked by our women).  I will be finishing up seminary work today since I leave for Wake Forest, NC tomorrow night after our Sept. 11th service.  Then we'll be going to an outdoor movie party hosted by the Cloers.  I pray your day finds you enjoying God's blessings.

A Clarification

Amanda and I started writing the post below last night.  Carter was born September 7th, 2011 at 8:55pm. His measurements were 7lbs 8oz, 21.5"  Mommy, Dyanna, is recovering well from a natural childbirth!  Whew!  That's strength, ladies and gentleman!  Tattoos and piercings have got nothing on childbirth.  Today we are back at the hospital.  Gigi, Debra Crawley, will be coming in on Saturday, and Grandpa, Doug Crawley, will be coming in next week.  I, Daniel, am working on seminary course work while Carter's mommy and daddy take well earned naps.  Aunt Manda is cradling baby Carter while his little body sleeps as it quickly adapts to a strange new world.  Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Welcome Back, Carter?

What a way to start Amanda and I's new blog!  Dyanna's second baby, Carter Finley Jenkins, is being born as we speak.  We can't wait to be an aunt and uncle again.  I have recently been trying to finish up Mere Christianity and it really has me thinking.  I find it amazing that God said it wasn't good for Adam to be alone.  So God created Eve from Adam and when husband and wife joined together as one, it created life.  It's awesome to think that when we, the bride of Christ, are joined together with our bridegroom, the result is life.  Life eternal.  God is so good and the miracle of birth is breathtaking.
